CubePDF 4.1.0

CubePDF

CubePDF 4.1.0 has been released. The updates are as follows.

Workaround for Microsoft Photos

We are currently receiving inquiries that Microsoft Photos fails to launch when CubePDF executes the post process "Open" after converting PNG, JPEG, or other image files. According to the information we have received so far, this issue seems to occur on devices with Microsoft Photos version 2024.11060.20006.0 or later installed. We have implemented a workaround for this issue in CubePDF 4.0.1.

What to do when you cannot launch Microsoft Photos

Related to this issue, we have also received reports that if the CubePDF post process fails to launch Microsoft Photos, double-clicking an image file or shortcut will not launch Microsoft Photos. This issue seems to be caused by an incomplete Microsoft Photos process remaining when the launch fails. We expect that this issue has been largely resolved in CubePDF 4.1.0, but if you experience this issue, please terminate the Microsoft Photo process by either of the following methods.

  • Select Photos.exe from the list of processes displayed in the "Details" tab of the Task Manager, then right-click and select "End Task".
  • Right-click on the Microsoft Photos shortcut from the Start menu, etc., and select "Application Settings" in the "Advanced" menu. Then click the "Exit" button on the window that appears.

Also, if you experience this issue, please consider changing the post process of CubePDF to "None" and then open the file by double-clicking it after conversion (as far as we have verified, the conversion itself seems to have been completed normally). Please also refer to CubePDF Documents to change and save settings.

Update iText to 8.0.5

In CubePDF 4.0.0, an issue was identified that caused a NullReferenceException when merging some PDF files (PDF files with an object called "Optional content"). This issue has been fixed in the update to iText 8.0.5.

For CubePDF users, please download the latest installer from Download Page and update by overwrite installation. The source code can be available from our repository on GitHub.
